Stripes, Yippee I Won! and some Limited Edition Books

I had great news yesterday. I won a give-away from the sparklingly talented Shirley Ng- Benitez!

So I have been walking a little taller since then. Shirley's work always make me smile. Her watercolours are fresh and scintillating, her characters dynamic and charming and, dare I say it, just so cute :)

 Thank you Shirley!!

Shirley's work is here. She has just released two new works that look amazing.

Sorry about the long post. I didn't even tell you how Bella Sinclair of  Doodlespot was my 40,000 visitor the other day! Thank you Bella :) I made this small image to celebrate :)

And  thank  you everybody :)

PS the rest of the Zebras are here:

(Edit: wasn't comfortable with selling the books from the blog so removed that section)

Yay Yay for your books being FINALLY available! And SQUEEEAAALS for the party! Confetti and streamers and balloons, how did you KNOW! Hahahahahaha. And thank you for making sure the shirts spell M-E-N. I love a party with some good men in it. :D

Your zebras and way TRIPPY! Whoa! They remind me of those Magic Eye books where you have to unfocus your eyes and stare to make the images appear. And I love the black and white! Reminds me of Ces's work too! A dizzying spectacle of pure awesomeness.

Now pass me a noisemaker. I'm ready to pah-TAY!

  6. Whooooaaaa!!! I think I am going to vomit. No that is not a criticism. I have been dizzy this morning. I don't know why. I felt better after I ate but the zebra opthalmic illusion is way crazy cool!!! Congratulations to Bella for being the 400,000th visitor. You are so lucky. I don't think she has even visited me more that 2,000 times and she visited yours 4,000,000 times??? Whaaaaaahhhh! Oh and you gave her a party full of men. I am so jealous!!! I love your tripes! Tsup!

  7. Love the zebras Andrew even if they did make my eyes cross ;) Leave it to you to give Zebras a twist. I love the new header and background on the blog. Very cool. Makes me think of Poe... Maybe that's because we've been reading Poe and studying Transcendentalism. LOL

  8. Hello. I am here to answer the ad for the Doodoo Analyzer position? I have most of my teef.

Apparently, Ces loves tripe. I don't like the texture of it, myself.

  9. Well stripes, tripes... what's the difference? Opthalmic illusion sounds like opthalmic solution or emulsion...I meant OPTIC ILLUSION!!!! Duh!

  10. Ugh, Andrew, I did not really tear it but it's in the discard bin. Oh please!!! Just ask me for any print you like. I will be happy to give you art prints, archival on St Cuthbert blah blah... paper. Of course I am notorious for procrastinating. I still owe three people their ATCs and some print AND I AM SO embarrassed because I have asked for their addresses twice already. Ugh.

  11. Hello Anddrew
You are very kind. Thanks for stopping by. (I still do not know why the girl lost her long black hair, I did not sleep last night thinking about it)
Oh, yeah you're right, all day I am with my mind set on the Australian weather.
you know the Pacific's winds come to America, and if it is raining on Sydney today, tomorrow it will rain on my house. Thanks for the report.
Oh, girls in bikini! you're lucky you're still young and you look at the girls in bikini, I can only play checkers in the square with other retirees, give crumbs to the pigeons, and look at the dancers who dance behind the entertainer, in a entertainment program on TV!!!
Cof Cof!!!!!! forgiveness bronchitis dont left me yet.
Greetings, hugs (do you remember the old club anonymous huggers?)

  12. Not too many zebras together there? What smell do they have?

  13. FYI: I do not eat tripe. Ugh! Mr. Finnie. Stop spreading rumors! :)

  14. In my birth language, tripe is called "bendongo." It looks like towel, so when I was growing up my younger sister and I called it "tuwalya" for towel when we went with our mother to the meat market.

  15. A trumpet fanfare, a bottle of good champagne & general manic revelry are in order here! Excuse me for a moment...

Okay, that was fun! ...ahem... congratulations & felicitations for your thundering herd of special events! And btw those zebras are very fetching in all of their avant-garde outfits.

  16. Congratulations to all the winners here! Love the "Op Art" zebras- Curious to know if you've hidden anything among the herds? :o)

  17. The implied expression of the Zebra as she enters the herd of a-stripe-of-different- 'colors' is perfect. I find myself very easily lost in the checkered past of all those Zebraic animals. I'm particularly fond of how they meld into one another.
~~nice to see a slightly different take on your takes.

    Congrats on book number two.
one of many to come without doubt.

  18. Gosh, I go blog-less for a week and leave you kids alone and look what happens: Zillions of zebras, and partying tykes with cryptic letters on their chests! (Am I the only one who hasn't figured out what the letters mean? ) Seriously, the zebras are fabulous, and the party scene perfectly illustrates how nice it felt to read your "get back to work" comment. It truly jump-started my week and I even churned out a little drawing. So happy for all of the well-deserved interest in your books! And to win a print of Shirley's? That's a good enough reason for a party right there. Thanks again, Andrew!
