A tenous connection? - so I should tell you about Chrysanthemum Super-
Bum. It's an excellent hardy perennial, quite cheeky but very robust when
planted behind the main bed, especially at the bottom of the garden....
This image is a homage to Jessica Wilcox Smith (see image below "Rain Rain Go Away")- one of the "Red Rose Girls". Thanks for looking .....again. See you in Oz. :)
Amazing!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Andrew! I see MY rain I send to you a couple days ago! You see, it was very very inspirational for you :)
ReplyDeleteBut I like especially the katkins on nut trees and pines !! Great image.
(If you want I can send you an other bucket with rain I collected this morning ....just let me know) :D
Beautiful! I really like your style
ReplyDeleteWonderful! Love, love Jessica Wilcox Smith's work and your take on it is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWith your forgiveness, I will tell you that I think this is what I liked most of what you did in the past year. (I like to be honest, I'm not saying this is the best, I say this is what more I liked it)>maybe also is the best :)<
ReplyDelete(thanks for writing little)
Delightful! You stayed true to your own style, yet captured the tenderness of your inspiration's subject. So very, very, lovely! :o)
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so gorgeous, and also touching.
ReplyDeleteI have missed your work. Time runs away.
I want this. I'll send you my mailing addy...
Oh, great job with this Andrew! I love that you really did pay homage to her work and yet, you did it in your own, Andrew way ;) Yep, I really, really love this one.
ReplyDeleteThese children sticking out his tongue! I feel that now when I come to your blog someone makes fun of me! Ohhhhh :)
ReplyDeleteHey Andrew! Great homage Ms. Wilcox Smith. True to the Finniesque style... but wait! Where is the rat? Oh I bet he is in the barrel. Very clever hiding all the gruesome and creepy stuff in plain view. Delightful work (Never thought I’d use the word delightful in your comment section:o) Those “wet” reflections are the ultimate expression of artistic perfection!
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, Andrew, your illustration grabbed my attention in the first instant, so I even didn't notice the theme. It's like a breath of fresh air after the devils, the fire, the naughty boys and the dark atmosphere as a whole in your pictures lately...:-) This one is close to me! I like the composition, the light colours, the way the rain is falling down and the reflections in the puddles... This time there's something different in expressing your ideas and it reveals your lyrical side! (by me). I hope I didn't offend you!..xx
ReplyDeleteI instantly laughed reading Rossichka's comment! So, it's cute, sweet and adorable this time, eh? Well, either you've always had it in you or you're just suppressing again...if you are, then I can only imagine (in horror) the kind of devils you'd be showing us next! Hehehe...
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this piece really soothes the heart, perhaps a "sign" for friends like Rossichka that there is yet hope for redemption? :D :D :D
Hallo Andrew, Wasser, „des einen Freud, des anderen Leid“
ReplyDeleteohne Wasser kein Leben,
wir haben als Kind geliebt durch den warmen Regen zulaufen, naß naß naß.... und wir hatten Freude….
viel Wasser ist gut für das Gänschen in deiner Malkunst, schöne Zeichnung
freundliche Grüße Jasmin
Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThis is so darling! I like everything about it. It puts me in my happy place :) Maybe I can relate to playing with goslings? Lots to look at with the reflections and shadows too, and I love her dress and the colors of everything. Nice job! Really like the geese in your banner too.
ReplyDeleteThis is really wonderful...as I look at it, I can feel the rain, hear the goslings...so evocative!
ReplyDeleteHi again, I came back to thank you for that tip about how you make a cropping window layer... I love that idea. But when I returned to your blog, I got all caught up in this image again...it really resonates with me. Are you rolling your eyes at all of us softies gushing over your sensitive piece? I'm sure you'll have something wonderfully dark to get revenge on us next week...
ReplyDeleteAmazing painting!
ReplyDeleteTa bannière avec tes oies me font craquer... J'ADORE!!
Gros bisous
Oh! A geese invasion!!
ReplyDeleteVery funny ha ha!
