Happy Easter
Imagine if there were no Christ and no Christian Church, how many amazing works of art would never have been made, how many Cathedrals would never have been built, how many wars would never have been waged...
Or instead of being Christians we might be Mithritites, studying the path of Mithras and killing bulls at 'Easter'.
Bloody business, being human, regardless of who your God is - and that is usually a quirk of birth.
Happy Easter.
Hope your God is treating you well.

Woman Dressed as Fortune Teller
Well, I went to the fortune teller,
And this is what the woman said:
'You need to make my picture.'
And you know what? Then I did.
Now you know why my career as a rapper stalled in kindergarten.

Ball with dog - variations
BALL WITH DOG
These might look the same but they have totally different jumping off points. I was blindfolded for both jumps - it was very frustrating. Not only did I not know where I was going to land, I kept sharpening my finger in the pencil sharpener rather than the pencil.
Luckily I have HB index finger.
I kid you not :)
Hope everyone is well and just having better than fun and opening their eyes when they sharpen their pencils..
Thank you for looking.

Couple of Paintings in Progress
Just a few acrylics I started during the week.
One based on my digital homage to The Handmaidens.
The other homages myself ;) As well as Ball, Balthus and Bellmer - not to mention Rego.
*The Burnt out car is a painting by my studio partner.

Happy Easter 2018!
Happy Easter to all and Sundry :) I hope everyone is well and making wonderful art!
Here's a few details of my homage to Fra Angelico's (d.1455) work 'The Crucifixion' (1420), to help celebrate Easter.
Fra Angelico was one of the first artists to use linear perspective, but while I was studying his work I found his spatial constructions fairly compressed - so when I made this work I worked with a series of images constructed like collages to try and achieve that same compression.
This work is one of the works presently on the wall at the Hugo Ball show - at Maitland Regional Art Gallery, NSW Australia.
There's more about the show here at https://www.mrhugoball.com/
Thank you for looking.
